Security Export Control

For an overview of the scheme, please refer to the following page from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Security Export Controls at Keio University

The Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Law and its related laws and regulations require universities, etc. to obtain prior permission from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry when providing or sending technology or goods that could be used or diverted for military purposes to a foreign country (foreign nationals, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining international peace and security. In particular, because university research results may include technology that could be converted into weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear weapons, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) require that appropriate security export controls be thoroughly implemented.

We ask for the understanding and cooperation of all faculty and staff in complying with the "Keio University Security Export Control Regulations" and the "Keio University Security Export Control Manual".
Please refer to the manuals, procedural documents, and materials for on-campus briefings at Security Export Control (internal domain only, Japanese only).
