Procedures after Grant Decision (at the end of the fiscal year)

Carry-over of grants

In the event that it becomes difficult to complete the project within the fiscal year due to unavoidable circumstances that could not be foreseen at the time of the grant decision, you may apply for carryover of the grants for the current fiscal year. JSPS usually sends a notice in December of each year.

Please submit your application by the deadline after completing it on the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research electronic application system.

Approval of Extension of the Multi-year Fund (MF)

In the final year of the research plan, if you wish to extend the grant period due to changes in the research plan, etc., you may apply for an extension. JSPS usually sends a notice in January.
